Modding the charger cable for an old ass laptop to USB-C

Just what the title says, and actually inspired by the project form Headcrash and a conversation with him, I built an adapter cable to power an old laptop from USB-C.

Nicely done! It really is a pretty good hack/mod type thing for making old computers portable again. And not having to modify the computer itself in any way is very convenient, and in som cases good, if it's something worth a lot of money. I do like the idea of modding the USB-C trigger board into the computer, though. If the 12" Powerbook wasn't so damn cramped inside I would be considering that as well.

A side note about opening battery packs and other things like powerbricks that are welded together.. You can put them on a hard surface and whack the weld seam with a big screwdriver handle or something fairly violently, and that will break the weld surprisingly easy. That's how I open them with minimal case damage. They can then be superglued back togeter.

Hehe yeah it sounds really violent, which I suppose it kind of is. But it works surprisingly well! It's so much easier and cleaner than trying to cut the seam with a knife, or dremel.
