Re: OCC Zine and thoughts.

That looks impressive and very much 90s. Something like that for OCC25 would attract attention I think. Below from the OCC Web page write up... "Of all the OCCs I've participated in, I'd say this was the most productive but least rewarding." I know what you mean. Although I did not have to...

Re: Outcomes?

Well, I finally got the actual piece finished. http://www.k58.uk/pages/occ24/#finished Deliverables One text file called sp.ms that has the troff mark up for 14 pages of text with mathematical formulas, tables, diagrams and graphs. One pdf file called t.pdf which is the result of processing the text...

Re: Outcomes?

The outcome is the realization that I can do pretty much everything I do on a current machine, on a 2009 machine. Yes, that was one outcome for me as well. If a 2007 vintage netbook with its atom processor and mechanical drive can just about marginally run an up to date Firefox, then a core duo wit...

Re: Outcomes?

Thanks for replies, all focusing on a different strand of using old hardware. Looks as if the idea of a 'diy' OCC has surfaced a lot of ideas for future challenges. I'm posting this off a Debian 12 live usb session on the Thinkpad T61 that I keep specifically for its keyboard, so a 'special use' I s...

Outcomes?

I thought I'd just start a thread about the aftermath of OCC 4 in 2024. How would you describe the result of the week in a few sentences? For me: immersion in noughties (camera from 2004, Nokia candybar phone although recent manufacture because GSM is fading in UK, Samsung NC10 netbook with 1Gb RAM ...

Re: SUBMIT YOUR SITE!

oracle wrote: Fri Jul 12, 2024 6:13 pm No worries, I actually write the list by hand and try to deduce the theme from the link :) I've changed it now to reflect the title of your html page. Hope it's okay this way.
Absolutely fine, thanks

Re: SUBMIT YOUR SITE!

Hello Oracle and all I used the form to add my Web page at http://www.k58.uk/pages/occ24/ to the list and realised that the title wasn't too informative - I've changed the title now. Not sure if the script will pick up a change like that, and can't resubmit as form does not appear allow that. I'll g...

Re: SUBMIT YOUR SITE!

The url for my page should be gopher://nagoya.sunoc.omg.lol however using it seems to only display the first paragraph of the index.gph. gopher://nagoya.sunoc.omg.lol/1/ is the link that seems to display the index page correctly. I use w3m as a gopher viewer in my terminal. Using w3m -M -4 gopher:/...
