Re: My EDC kit and tech bags

All well here, thanks :)

Y2K aesthetic is also wicked cool! I'm kind of going back and forth between preferring Y2K and 2000s aesthetic... currently I'm big into WinXP, which I guess is right on the edge between the two.

But yeah, today everything is a shiny slab of glass, that's just not ...

Re: My EDC kit and tech bags

Yeah it's been a while :D

But this "living in 2004" project of yours is right up my street, I think I'll have to take some inspiration from it ;)

About the laptop OSs, that makes sense. Running them with the latest macos is probably not a great experience anyway.

Re: My EDC kit and tech bags

I haven't been around here in a while, and now that I've come back this is the first thread I see. That's some truly fantastic gear you have there!! I'm appropriately jealous of pretty much all of it 8-)

Do you run these Macbooks on a modern OS or their original ones?

Re: Moldy Apple Adventures

Love the computers and the setup!

On tip, if you press alt+cmd+R at boot, the mac boots into the recovery for the latest OS that's supported and not for the original that it came with.

What software are you running on these machines? I mean the programs that you regularly use, not just the OS.

Sounds like a fitting computer and a good theme for the OCC!

Re: 2024 - what is everybody doing?

I'll start, but I don't have very concrete plans yet, so I have to certainly think about this some more... but for me, I think I'll do some kind of "back to 2004" thing. Back then I had just started university, and I had one laptop and one mobile phone (not smart obviously), a Discman and an MP3 ...

2024 - what is everybody doing?

Hi everyone! I know we already have a thread for plans for 2024, but that's more about discussion and figuring things out...

I though it would be great to have a thread where every participant puts in just one message with what they're doing for this years challenge, which tools/hardware they're ...

I could ask, but I don't really know her, we barely interacted in the past. Maybe Oracle or someone else has a better connection with her? If not, I'll shoot her a message on Mastodon.
