Here's my daily driver at home and work, both on OpenBSD. This screenshot is from my work desktop. The personal laptop is now also using this theme, which is a combination of Menta and Motif for GTK and Marco window manager, respectively. Yes, this is MATE Desktop. The wallpaper is actually from Mac OS X, but I can't remember which version. I used ImageMagick to convert the color hue to that shade of green.

Looks good! I'm running Xubuntu with XFCE and the platinum9 theme, with some OS9 icons and one of the stock wallpapers from MacOS9 |

Thanks! I tried doing the same thing in KDE Plasma 5.27.12 under Slackware-current, but I couldn't find a decent Motif-like theme to use on the window manager for KDE. |

Is (EDIT: Was) my desktop too obscure? BTW This is the only known setup running OpenBSD on Intel 8086 CPU. A little bit overclocked 8086. |

Well, maybe not cwm which I also used for awhile and loved, but maybe yes to the hardware if we're being literal.  |

Returning to other examples, let's look here. Chicago95 Theme for XFCE If you do not want spend too many time on assembling desktop setup, you can use Chicago95 theme for XFCE. It looks really nice, but that "Start menu"...looks like fusion of menu from Win95, WinXP and Win10. Available from: https://github.com/grassmunk/Chicago95  IceWM IceWM is really nice window manager, it has included Win 95 theme which rather somehow resembles Windows 95 desktop. There is also other Windows 95 theme available from here: https://www.gnome-look.org/p/2200974 which looks much better. Good choice if you are looking for something less resource hungry and you do not need full desktop environment.  FVWM95 BTW Why those retro themes are meant to resemble Win 95, not 98 or ME? FVWM95 is a theme for FVWM 2 to resemble Windows 95 ofc, but it looks more like hybrid of Win and other Unix-type window manager from 90's-00's.
