Soo we had an ice storm here last night. Driving to work today was... interesting to say the least.

We had a good ice storm just before my trip up to Philadelphia. For probably my first 2 hours of driving every tree's branches were encased in ice. I don't usually see stuff like that more than once or twice a year, much less that much of an eyeful.

Been ages since I've eaten collard greens. Rectified that today.

The really early MP3 players were such a pain. I've been using the Compaq iPaq PA-2 for the past couple of weeks. And when it's up and running it's not bad tbh. It sounds great! But file management is, well.. Interesting.
It has no file system on the two MMC cards it's using for storage, and is instead seemingly blindly clocking the data from them into the MP3 decoder as a raw bitstream.
This means you need to "reformat" the cards when doing playlist changes, or you'll end up with corrupted remains of the old songs at the end of the new songs.
This can be done in a bloated software called MusicMatch Jukebox, where the data transfer completely locks up the program about 56.333333...% of the time, forcing you to start all over.

Proper file systems and players mounting themselves as flash storage devices is such an insane gamechanger it's not even funny.

Nothing more exciting than post-digestive rumblings after eating Indian food.

So my wife - and sometimes myself - drives a VW electric e-golf.

From Monday on, it only produces cold air inside. Something that gets very cold in a country with freezing temperatures and snow.

Of course, the VW warranty expired in January.

Price estimate for repair: €6.000

For a car that has an expected used car price of maybe €13,000-14,000 I have no other choice than to do the repairs.

And we who had planned to do various projects in the house :(
